Skype Piano Lessons

Piano by Skype

Over the years, some of my students who've moved away have asked for Skype lessons. At first, I wasn't sure I wanted to teach long distance, but once I tried it I found it to be nearly as
effective as in-person lessons. The only thing missing really is the ability to physically guide the student's hand. A flexible camera aimed at the keys and access to Skype are all that's necessary. So, I've decided to open up Skype lessons for anyone who would like to explore long-distance piano. To inquire, use the "contact' tab above, leave a comment below or visit my website.

  1. Hello Mr.Stannard,
I am very interested in setting up a lesson. I have six of your books, and I have learned so much from you already. I am particularly interested in Chopin, Bach and Debussy. I've been inspired by your idea of morsels for regular chewing, and in fact, I play pieces that are very ambitious for me. I have recently been playing several nocturnes (9-3, 9-1, 62-1) and mazurkas (7-3, 63-3, 67-4, 68-4) but I frequently chew on the barcarolle. I am not particularly focused, but I am very enthusiastic.
While I have used skype, I have only used the camera and microphone on the laptop, so I need to work on my technology, but I have taken steps to improve it in the next week.
    My email is holtsanders@comcast.net.
I really appreciate all your great insights through your books, and I hope that we can work out a lesson.
